Features & Benefits

Fluids & Lubricants Features
Key Features

Lithium-12-oxystearate is produced from 12-hydroxyl-stearic acid for applications requiring a finely divided powder with good handling and feeding characteristics.

Performance Benefits

Lithium-12-oxystearate is used in the production of grease and oil. Lithium soaps exhibit excellent gelling properties. Compared to Aluminum soaps, Lithium soaps are considerably more hydrophobic and thus allow higher drop points. Lithium-12-oxystearate is used to produce very resistant gels. The lubricating effect of these oils and greases remains consistent in a temperature range up to 120°C. The gelling properties are usually not affected by other additives.
