CARPOL® EDAP-800 is an ethylenediamine-initiated polyether polyol. The resulting material has a nominal functionality of four and a typical hydroxyl number of 800. This tetrol is polymerized with ethylene and propylene oxides and is autocatalytic due to its amine content. This polyol’s functionality makes it optimal for use in rigid foams as a crosslinking modifier. In addition, CARPOL® EDAP-800 can also be used as a curative for most C.A.S.E. applications.

ISOFOL 2426 S are primary saturated alcohols with defined branching of the carbon chain. Such alcohols are chemically described as 2-alkyl-1-alkanols and are also referred to as Guerbet alcohols. ISOFOL alcohols are high purity alcohols which offer excellent oxidative and color stability. Additionally, the twin 100% linear alkyl branches of the ISOFOL alcohols give a lower viscosity and better biodegradability than dimer alcohols derived from oxo-alcohols. Dynasylan® MTES, an alkyltrialkoxysilane is an important component in solgel systems. Dynasylan® MTES is a colorless, lowviscosity liquid. Use requires acid or alkalicatalysed hydrolysis. Dynasylan® MTES is regarded as trifunctional since all three alkoxy groups are able to participate in this reaction. Additionally Dynasylan® MTES contains a methyl group that adds organic character to the products. Hydrolysis leads to silanol groups which, in a subsequent condensation reaction, form very stable siloxane bonds (SiOSi). Condensation occurs parallel to hydrolysis once a certain amount of silanol groups have been formed. The absolute and relative rates of hydrolysis and condensation depends on a number of factors. The most important factors include pH, concentration, solvent, temperature and the catalyst.
