Palmer Holland, Inc.D.E.R.® 671
  • Principal:Olin Epoxy
  • Chemical Family:Epoxy & Epoxy Derivatives
  • End Uses:Can Coating, Chemical-Resistant Coatings, Coil Coating, Epoxy Coating, Polyamine-cured Coating, Polyester Coating, Powder Coating, Protective Coatings
  • Features:Chemical Resistance, Excellent Adhesion, Excellent Flow, Low Molecular Weight, Low Temperature-Curing
D.E.R.® 671 is a standard low molecular weight solid epoxy resin designed for use in applications where cure must be achieved at room temperature. D.E.R.®671 Solid Epoxy Resin is available in flake form and generally provides the best overall balance of properties for polyamide- and polyamine-cured coatings. In addition,D.E.R.® 671 Solid Epoxy Resin can also be used in powder coatings where it provides excellent flow in standard as well as in low temperature curing systems. It can be used in both epoxy and epoxy/polyester powder coatings. D.E.R.® 671 Epoxy Resin is also available in various solutions, e.g. D.E.R.® 671-X75 Epoxy Resin Solution in xylene (75 wt% resin). D.E.R.® 671-X75 Epoxy Resin Solution, when formulated with polyamine or polyamide hardeners, forms an excellent base for many high quality chemical resistant coatings. These two-pack coating systems have applications where cure must be achieved at ambient temperature, and films must withstand exposure to corrosive atmospheres containing a variety of chemical reagents, solvents or salt water. The outstanding resistance properties, hardness, excellent adhesion to almost any substrate and flexibility are utilized in a wide variety of finishes, including marine coatings,tank-linings and industrial maintenance coatings. D.E.R.® 671 Solid Epoxy Resin can also be used as complimentary resin in non-epoxy coating systems to improve resistance properties.

D.E.N.® 425 is a liquid reaction product of epichlorohydrin and phenol-formaldehyde novolac. D.E.N.® 425 Epoxy Novolac Resin is an epoxidized phenolic resin of higher functionality than standard bisphenol Abased liquid epoxy resins. Epoxy novolac resins combine, in one molecule, the thermal stability of a phenolic backbone with the reactivity and versatility of an epoxy. They are distinguished by particular good thermal stability, mechanical strength and resistance against chemicals. They find ready acceptance for lining pipelines, storage tanks and pumps. D.E.N.® 425 Epoxy Novolac Resin has been developed to fill the gap between the two functional standard bisphenol F based liquid epoxy resins and the high viscous epoxy novolac resins. It has a viscosity similar to a standard bisphenol A based liquid epoxy resin. The multi-functionality, ± 2.5 epoxy groups per mole, of D.E.N.® 425 Epoxy Novolac Resin produces a more tightly cross-linked cured system than bisphenol A based liquid epoxy resins having improved high temperature performance and improved resistance against various chemical.
