3M™ Glass Bubbles K20HS
Principal:
3M Advanced Materials
Functions:
Filler, Filler, Filler
Chemical Family:
Borosilicates
End Uses:
Deep Water Syntactic Foams, Mastics, Oil & Gas Applications
Features:
Excellent Chemical Stability, Good Chemical Stability, High Strength, High Strength, Light Weight, Water Resistance, Water Resistance
3M™ Glass Bubbles K20HS are high-strength additives for polymers made from a water-resistant and chemically stable soda-lime borosilicate glass. These hollow glass bubbles can be compounded with a variety of polymers to reduce the overall density of the composite. These composites can be incorporated into deep sea syntactic foam buoyancy modules to improve uplift properties of the system at minimal foam volumes. The high strength of K20HS glass bubbles can withstand both the high processing shear forces of polymer mixing and the pressure of seawater in many applications. 3M™ Glass Bubbles K20HS have isostatic crush strengths of 750 psi with a minimum of 90% survival.
