VANCRYL® 68 S is an aqueous solution of VANCRYL® 68 acrylic resin, with ammonia used to affect the solution. VANCRYL® 68 S provides outstanding pigment wetting along with the viscosity stability needed for aqueous gravure and flexographic inks. The transfer properties and hold-out characteristics of inks prepared with this resin solution are excellent. In coatings, VANCRYL® 68 S provides high gloss, scuff resistance, and hardness. VANCRYL® 68 S is compatible with most acrylic vehicles and other vehicles such as maleic resins. VANCRYL® 68 S is effective as a protective colloid in the production of styrene-acrylic copolymer emulsions.

Dynasylan® IBTMO, an alkyltrialkoxysilane is an important surface modifier and component in solÂgel systems. Dynasylan® IBTMO is a colorless, lowÂviscosity liquid. Dynasylan® IBTMO is regarded as trifunctional since all three alkoxy groups are able to hydrolyze. Additionally Dynasylan® IBTMO contains an isobutyl group that adds organic character to the products. Hydrolysis leads to silanol groups which, in a subsequent condensation reaction, form very stable siloxane bonds (ÂSiÂOÂSiÂ). Condensation occurs parallel to hydrolysis once a certain amount of silanol groups have been formed. The absolute and relative rates of hydrolysis and condensation depend on a number of factors. The most important factors include pH, concentration, solvent, temperature and the catalyst.

CYCAT® 600A is an organic acid catalyst recommended to accelerate the crosslinking reaction of amino resins with polymers containing hydroxyl, carboxyl, or amide functionality. CYCAT® 600A is soluble in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, alcohols, glycol ethers and water. It may be used as a replacement for less soluble acid catalysts, such as para-toluene sulfonic acid, in low alcohol-containing formulations. For formulation of 1K systems, CYCAT® 600A should be blocked with an appropriate amine, such as AMP (2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol).
