CARPOL® NIONIC™ L-81 Surfactant is a nonionic surfactant with a chemical structure designed to make it act as a defoamer in many applications. Even at very low concentrations, CARPOL® NIONIC™ L-81 Surfactant can be used to reduce the superficial tension of liquids, including high viscosity liquids. Defoaming performance is a function of cloud point and end use temperature and CARPOL® NIONIC™ L-81 Surfactant is a good low temperature defoamer. These materials are water soluble at low temperatures and will flocculate when warmed above their cloud point. In addition these products are easily removed and leave no residue on the surfaces.

Silcolapse® 621 is a 10% silicone antifoam emulsion designed for use in a wide range of aqueous industrial applications. Silcolapse® 621 effectively controls foam at concentrations as low as 10 ppm solids, even at elevated temperatures and under pressure. Silcolapse® 621 gives good results at wide-ranging pH and is particularly effective under alkaline conditions.

ALFONIC 1216CO-3 Ethoxylate is a biodegradable nonionic based on a linear primary alcohol formulated to simulate that derived from coconut oil. It is liquid at room temperature, essentially 100% active, and has the following structural formula: CH₃(CH₂)ₓ(OCH₂CH₂)₃OH where ‘x’ varies between 11 and 15. The narrow range version of this ethoxylate, made using Sasol Chemicals patented NOVEL catalyst technology, is also available.
