PURMOL™ 3ST is a potassium (K) type A zeolite with a pore size of approximately 3 Angstroms (0.32 nm). Purmol 3ST is recommended for use with high quality coatings. In general, we recommend the addition of 2.5% - 5% Purmol powder to the polyol component. This must be stirred thoroughly for a minimum of two hours to allow the Purmol to adsorb all the water before addition of the isocyanate.

PURMOL™ 3ST Paste is made of Purmol molecular sieve and castor oil. It includes a synthetic 3A zeolite with a pore size of approximately 3 Angstroms (0.32 nm). This allows for selective adsorption of molecules based on molecular size and polarity. In practice, Purmol adsorbs water but not solvents, resins, or pigments.

In general, we recommend the addition of 2.5% - 5% Purmol powder to the polyol component. This must be stirred thoroughly for a minimum of two hours to allow the Purmol to adsorb all the water before addition of the isocyanate. With metal dust coatings we recommend the addition of 0.5% - 2% PURMOL™ 4ST powder.
