MAINCOTE™ PR-71 is used for all protective coating applications, the first need is for adhesion to and passivation of the substrate. In the past, difficult-to-adhere-to substrates were often treated with a vinyl wash primer to passivate the substrate and provide adhesion for subsequent coats. These vinyl wash primers are increasingly difficult to use as they are very low in solids, high in VOC, and contain toxic pigments. In contrast, MAINCOTE™ PR-71 Waterborne Acrylic Resin allows the coatings manufacturer to supply primers that not only adhere to difficult metallic substrates, but also give good corrosion resistance over carbon steel. This resin's ability to be topcoated by most solvent-based coating systems makes it a very versatile water-based primer.

MAINCOTE™ HG-56 is an aqueous emulsion designed as a binder for maintenance coatings. While it is compositionally similar to MAINCOTE™ HG-54D Acrylic Resin, its somewhat larger particle size mandates that it be formulated in a different manner. The formulator should pay particular attention to the guidelines in this brochure.

MAINCOTE™ 36 Emulsion is an aqueous hydrophobic acrylic copolymer that can be used as an anti-corrosive primer for metal substrates. Primers based on MAINCOTE™ 36 Emulsion have excellent adhesion to most metal substrates, including carbon steel, aluminum, and galvanized steel. MAINCOTE™ 36 Emulsion also has excellent water resistance and good corrosion resistance making it a good primer choice for industrial maintenance, DIY metal primers, and is also suitable for shop applications on structural steel where adhesion, water, and corrosion resistance are key requirements.

D.E.H.® 2720 Epoxy Curing Agent is a high viscosity, modified cycloaliphatic polyamine based curing agent for epoxy resins. It contains no benzyl alcohol and no alkyl phenol.

MAINCOTE™ HG-86 is a binder and resin used in primers, traffic paints, and waterborne paints. It features early rain resistance, easy application, excellent glass bead retention, fast drying, high durability, low VOC, night visibility, and prolongs wear life.

D.E.R.® 732 Liquid Epoxy Resin is a reaction product of epichlorohydrin and polypropylene glycol.

AVANSE™ MV-100 represents the latest technology in waterborne acrylic polymers for high performance and low VOC industrial maintenance coatings. It provides formulators with a single resin which can be formulated into corrosion-resistant primers, highly durable topcoats, and high gloss direct-to-metal (DTM) finish coats. The novel technology behind the AVANSE™ Resins product line leads to new standards in film gloss, durability, corrosion control, chemical and solvent resistance, and adhesion. One aspect of this new technology is the formation of latex-pigment composite particles, which gives more homogeneous pigment distribution and results in enhanced corrosion resistance. Also, combining a novel polymer composition and the ability to self-crosslink after film formation, AVANSE™ MV-100 Resin offers the ability to formulate high performance coatings with volatile organic content (VOC) at or below 100 g/L. The favorable colloidal stability of AVANSE™ MV-100 Resin accommodates a broad range of formulation types, providing the formulator with a versatile binder for a variety of applications. Formulation robustness, along with 50-51% weight solids, allows the formulator to produce coatings with volume solids above conventional waterborne binders.

D.E.R.® 750 Liquid Epoxy Resin is a di-functional reactive diluent modified reaction product of epichlorohydrin with bisphenol-A.

MAINCOTE™ AE-58 is an aqueous acrylic emulsion copolymer which can be crosslinked with waterborne dispersions of epoxy resin in two-component acrylic/epoxy coatings. The resulting acrylic/epoxy coatings have properties such as low VOC, long pot life, and outstanding hardness, UV durability and solvent/chemical resistance. The high performance coatings can be used in a variety of interior and exterior applications for metal and concrete surfaces, such as institutional wall coatings and industrial metal primers, topcoats and direct-to-metal (DTM) coatings.

MAINCOTE™ HG-54D has established the performance standard for acrylic waterborne maintenance paint vehicles. It can be formulated into primers and gloss topcoats which are designed for commercial, institutional, and industrial maintenance markets. The full gloss capability, corrosion resistance, flow, hardness, and chemical resistance characteristics imparted by MAINCOTE™ HG-54D Acrylic Resin in a waterborne finish are typical of those associated with conventional solvent-based maintenance systems. Primer formulations exhibit stability with commonly used corrosion-inhibiting pigments.
