EBECRYL® 4859 is a difunctional aliphatic urethane methacrylate that does not contain any intentionally added organic tin compounds, heavy metals*, hydroquinone (HQ) or methyl ether of hydroquinone (MEHQ). (Please note that quinones are present in many raw materials, so the overall quinone content is reduced, but not zero in EBECRYL 4859.) Due to a low intrinsic viscosity, EBECRYL 4859 offers ease of formulating in energy curable systems that are low in viscosity with high oligomer content. PARALOIDâ„¢ XR-34 Resin is an effective pigment dispersant. They may also be blended with alkyds or nitrocellulose to improve the drying speed, gasoline resistance, and durability characteristics of the coating. They also provide significant upgrades to the gloss and hardness of other acrylic resins and other film formers when used as the grinding medium. VANCRYL® 65 is a medium molecular weight solid acrylic resin that is soluble in alkaline water solutions. Ammonia or other bases may be used as neutralizing agents. Co-solvents such as isopropanol are not required in making the solution, thus facilitating the preparation of low VOC inks and coatings. VANCRYL® 65 provides outstanding properties for high-solids gravure inks and waterborne clear overprint varnishes. The lower viscosity characteristics in solution of VANCRYL 65 allow the preparation of high solids inks and coatings, where high gloss and rapid drying are essential. Coatings prepared with VANCRYL® 65 have high gloss, scuff resistance, hardness, and excellent resolubility. VANCRYL® 65 is compatible with most acrylic and maleic resins. VANCRYL® 65 is also effective as a protective colloid in the production of styrene acrylic copolymer emulsions.

EBECRYL® 3503 is the modified diacrylate ester of a bisphenol A based epoxy resin diluted ~20% by weight with the reactive diluent propoxylated glycerol triacrylate (OTA-480)(1). It is designed primarily for use in ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB) curable formulations. EBECRYL® 3503 is light in color with high UV/EB reactivity, and exhibits good wetting of pigments, matting agents and substrates compared to unmodified epoxy acrylates. Cured films based on EBECRYL® 3503 will typically demonstrate high gloss and hardness, and good chemical resistance.
