Product Applications
  • Biochek® 8068 is intended to be used as a preservative for flexible PVC, but is also suitable for other polymers, e.g. polyurethanes. It protects the polymer compound or articles made hereof from fungal infestation leading to discoloration and detrimental change in mechanical properties. Moreover, Biochek® 8068 protects the polymer compound against undesirable discoloration due to the infestation with certain bacteria.
  • Prior to use of the product it is strongly recommended to homogenize the contents of the container, e.g. by stirring.
  • When incorporating Biochek® 8068 into a dry blend process, it is recommended that the Biochek® 8068 be added with the plasticizer. Biochek® 8068 can also be prepared as a premix with main plasticizer. When preparing PVC plastisols, Biochek® 8068 shall be added as the last component to the plastisol.
  • The dosage level of the Biochek® 8068 will depend on the exposure of the plasticized PVC or polymer to moisture, organic matter, UV irradiation and microbial load. Effective dosage levels are between 0.5 % - 1.0 % (w/w) with respect to the final compound.
