GENIOPLAST® PELLET 345 is a silicone copolymer containing over 90 % siloxane. On account of its structure and the high siloxane content, the material is highly flexible. GENIOPLAST® PELLET 345 contains neither plasticizers nor reinforcing fillers. It can be processed using standard thermoplastic processing techniques. The high siloxane content prevents impairment of the elastomeric properties at low temperatures.

- Processing Information
GENIOPLAST® PELLET 345 is an additive specifically designed for the compounding and masterbatch industry. Suitable equipment comprises twin screw extruders or co-kneaders. For the compounding process GENIOPLAST® PELLET 345 can be added at the feeding zone of the extruder either as a pre-mix together with resin polymer pellets or via separate feeding units. GENIOPLAST® PELLET 345 can be applied up to 220°C. Compounding and subsequent processing conditions are determined by the thermoplastic resin GENIOPLAST® PELLET 345 is added to. Application fields:
- Processing aid for plastics processing
- Polymer Additiv to improve flow and mechanial properties
- Slip additive for bi-oriented Polypropylene films (BOPP)
To improve its flow properties, the material may be powdered with approx. 1500 ppm WACKER fumed silica (HDK®) that disperses throughout the elastomer following thermoplastic processing. This small amount of fumed silica has no influence on the mechanical properties of GENIOPLAST® PELLET 345
