3M™ Glass Bubbles K20HS are high-strength additives for polymers made from a water-resistant and chemically stable soda-lime borosilicate glass. These hollow glass bubbles can be compounded with a variety of polymers to reduce the overall density of the composite. These composites can be incorporated into deep sea syntactic foam buoyancy modules to improve uplift properties of the system at minimal foam volumes. The high strength of K20HS glass bubbles can withstand both the high processing shear forces of polymer mixing and the pressure of seawater in many applications. 3M™ Glass Bubbles K20HS have isostatic crush strengths of 750 psi with a minimum of 90% survival.

AEROXIDE® Alu C Silica is a fine-particulate, pure aluminium oxide with high specific surface area and marked aggregate and agglomerate structure. These hollow glass microspheres can be used as a low density filler material ideal for plastic and rubber parts created from injection molding, extrusion processes, or other vigorous processing equipment (e.g. Banbury mixers, etc.), offering improved processing over many conventional fillers.

These hollow glass microspheres can be compounded with a variety of polymers to reduce the overall thermal conductivity of the composite. These composites can be coated or incorporated into deep sea oil pipelines to improve the flow assurance properties of the system. The high strength of S42XHS glass bubbles can withstand both the high processing pressure of polymer extrusion and the pressure of seawater in many applications. The S42XHS glass bubbles have isostatic crush strengths of 8000 psi with a minimum of 90% survival.

3M™ Glass Bubbles iM16K are high-strength polymer additives made from a water-resistant and chemically-stable soda-lime borosilicate glass. These hollow glass microspheres can be used as a low density filler material ideal for plastic and rubber parts created from injection molding, extrusion processes, or other vigorous processing equipment (e.g., Banbury mixers, etc.), offering improved processing over many conventional fillers. They can reduce final part weight by 15% or more without compromising the mechanical integrity. 3M™ Glass Bubbles iM16K help to reduce weight, improve dimensional stability, reduce shrinkage and sink marks, and contribute to material and process cost savings.
