The most important factors include pH, concentration, solvent, temperature and the catalyst.

Dynasylan® SIVO 408 is an oligomeric short-chain alkylfunctional silane. Dynasylan® SIVO 408 is a clear, colorless to slightly yellow liquid and soluble in common organic solvents (e.g. petroleum ether, toluene, alcohol). Dynasylan® SILBOND® HT-30 is a milky-white, low-viscosity pre-hydrolyzed ethyl polysilicate hybrid binder that contains a mixture of silica derived from TEOS and other components. The silica content ranges from ₂9.5% to 31.0% (as SiO₂). This material is formulated for use in precision investment casting applications. Advantages include high green-strength and excellent performance in high-temperature casting applications. The improved green-strength is a direct result of the higher SiO₂ content.

Protectosil® WB CONCENTRATE is a clear, penetrating, breathable water repellent for use on brick, concrete masonry units and some natural stones. A 100% concentrated alkyltrialkoxysilane which is intended to be diluted with water and provides the high performance traditionally associated with alcohol carried systems. Prevents water and waterborne contaminants from entering the sub- strate and causing premature deterioration. Protectosil® WB CONCENTRATE is especially suited for imparling water repellency to substrates such as brick masonry and split-face block. By preventing water and waterborne contaminants from entering the substrate, Protectosil® WB CONCENTRATE reduces such problems as efflorescence, leaching, acid rain deterioration, scaling, dirt buildup, staining and corrosion of reinforcing steel. Treated surfaces are fully breathable because the natural moisture vapor transmission is not affected. This will eliminate problems caused by entrapped moisture, including blushing of the sealer and freeze-thaw damage to the masonry.

VPS SIVO 260 is a novel multifunctional siloxane adhesion promoter with aminofunctionalities that can be used for various applications. VPS SIVO 260 is mainly dedicated for use in adhesives and sealants to improve the adhesion of hybrid products (e.g. silylated polyurethanes, MS Polymers®) and RTV-silicones - especially to difficult to stick polycarbonate substrates. In addition, VPS SIVO 260 can lead to adequate adhesive cure and it imparts both additional flexibility and hydrophobicity.

Dynasylan® F 8261 is a bifunctional silane possessing hydrolyzable inorganic ethoxysilyl groups and a fluoroalkyl chain. Dynasylan® F 8261 acts as a surface modifier on mostly hydroxyfunctional substrates (e.g. glass, ceramic). It can also be used as an adhesion promoter between inorganic materials and fluoropolymers (PTFE, fluorosilicones etc.). Dynasylan® F 8261 is a colorless and odorless liquid. It can be diluted to a proportion of about 25 wt.-% in ethanol and various other organic solvents, e.g. n-hexane, xylene, acetone or ethyl acetate.
