Exolit®

Exolit® OP 1311 is a non-halogenated flame retardant based on organic phosphinates. The product achieves its flame retardant effect through intumescence. The thermoplastic polymer with Exolit® OP 1311 foams and crosslinks on exposure to flame and forms a stable char at the surface acting as a barrier. The protective layer provides a heat- insulating effect, reduces oxygen access and prevents dripping of molten polymer. Exolit® OP 1311 is a white powder.

Exolit® AP 740 is a white free flowing powder. It is a non-halogenated additive flame retardant based on ammonium polyphosphate which develops its effectiveness through phosphorus/nitrogen synergism. Exolit® AP 740 differs in its mode of action from chlorine or bromine containing flame retardants by achieving its effect through intumescence. The flame retarded material foams on exposure to flame. The carbon foam layer so formed protects the polymer through its heat-insulating effect and reduces further oxygen access.

Exolit® OP 560 is a flame retardant that can be used for flexible polyurethane foams. It is a medium viscosity liquid and it is based on a non-halogenated phosphorus polyol. The product is a reactive flame retardant which can be chemically reacted into the polymeric matrix. Therefore, very low fogging values can be achieved which meet the most stringent emission standards for PU flexible foams in the automotive industry.

Exolit® AP 422 is a fine-particle ammonium polyphosphate (phase II) produced by a special method. The product is largely insoluble in water and completely insoluble in organic solvents. It is colorless, non-hygroscopic and non-flammable.

Exolit® 855 is a proprietary mixture containing liquid partial phosphoric acid esters for intumescent transparent fire protection applications for wood. The clear liquid is fully soluble in water, non-hygroscopic and non-flammable.

Exolit® AP 740 S is a white free flowing powder. It is a non-halogenated additive flame retardant based on ammonium polyphosphate which develops its effectiveness through phosphorus/nitrogen synergism. Exolit® AP 740 S differs in its mode of action from chlorine or bromine containing flame retardants by achieving its effect through intumescence and has compared to Exolit® AP 740 a reduced water uptake. Exolit® OP 930 is a white, fine-grained powder based on an organic phosphinate. The product is not hygroscopic and it is insoluble in water and common organic solvents lik cetone, dichloromethane, MEK, toluene. Exolit® OP 930 can easily be dispersed in solvents like acetone or MEK.

Exolit® AP 740 F is a white free flowing powder. It is a non-halogenated additive flame retardant based on ammonium polyphosphate which develops its effectiveness through phosphorus/nitrogen synergism. Exolit® AP 422 A is a fine-particle ammonium polyphosphate (phase II) with less than 0.1% melamine. The product is largely insoluble in water and completely insoluble in organic solvents. It is colorless, non-hygroscopic, non-flammable, and classified as SVHC-free under current regulations.

Exolit® OP 1400 is a non-halogenated flame retardant based on organic phosphinates for reinforced polyamide 6, polyamide 66 and high temperature polyamides. The produt achieves its flame retardant effect through a combined gas phase and condensed phase mode of action. Exolit® OP 1400 is based on a new chemical substance which currently being registered in various national and regional chemical inventories.

Exolit® AP 428 is a fine-particle ammonium polyphosphate produced by a special method. The product is largely insoluble in water and completely insoluble in organic solvents. It is colorless, non-hygroscopic and non-flammable. Exolit® AP 428 differs from most other commercial products in the following ways, greatly reduced solubility in water lower viscosity in aqueous suspensions, lower viscosity in PU polyol suspensions.

Exolit® OP 1240 is a flame retardant based on an organic aluminum phosphinate which is a thermally stable white solid without any hazard classification or labeling. It can be easily compounded into polyesters and subsequently processed again to manufacture flame retarded parts used in consumer or industrial products.

Exolit® OP 1230 Terra REDcert2 is a single-ingredient phosphinate, aluminum tridiethylphosphinate, used as a flame retardant in industrial applications.

Exolit® OP 550 (LV) can be used for flexible polyurethane foams. It is a medium viscosity liquid and it is based on a non-halogenated phosphorus polyol with a functionality of approx. 2. The product is a reactive flame retardant that can be chemically reacted into the polymeric matrix, preventing unwanted migration from the foam. Therefore, very low fogging values can be achieved which meet the most stringent emission standards for PU flexible foams in the automotive industry plus elastomers.
