CARPOL® GP-5171 is a glycerin-initiated polyether polyol. The resulting material has a nominal functionality of three and an average molecular weight of 5000 Da. This triol is polymerized with propylene oxide and then capped with 71% ethylene oxide. The outcome is a polyol with enhanced reactivity. Main applications include flexible foam, however, CARPOL® GP-5171 may also be included as a component in other urethane products and applications.

It is a rheology modifier in paste form with high efficiency (optimum sag resistance and viscosity).CRAYVALLAC® PA3 XAF 20 is supplied in the form of crystalline fibres. In a coating system, these fibres form an interacting network. This network gives rise to the shear thinning rheology of the final coating. This shear thinning characteristic provides a very high viscosity under the low shear rates associated with sedimentation, and a low viscosity at the much higher application shear rates. The net result is excellent control of sedimentation combined with ease of application.
