CRAYVALLAC® 60X is used in epoxies (EP) and vinyls. It is applied in anti-fouling coatings, chlorinated rubber coatings, primers, and solventborne coatings. The product provides anticaking, recoatability, and sag resistance.

CRAYVALLAC® MT is used in solventborne coatings, as well as solventless and high solids coatings. It features anti-settling, high thixotropy, recoatability, and sag resistance. The product functions as a rheology modifier in CASE ingredients.

CRAYVALLAC® PA3 X 20 is used in solventborne coatings, top coats, varnishes, and wood coatings. It is compatible with acrylics, alkyds, nitrocellulose, and polyurethanes (PU) and is suitable for wood substrates.

CRAYVALLAC® PA4 X 20 is a rheology modifier pre-activated amide wax supplied in a mixture of xylene and alcohol. It is a rheology modifier in paste form with enhanced transparency, excellent anti-sagging and anti-settling properties.CRAYVALLAC® PA4 X 20 is supplied in the form of crystalline fibres. In a coating system, these fibres form an interacting network. This network gives rise to the shear thinning rheology of the final coating. This shear thinning characteristic provides a very high viscosity under the low shear rates associated with sedimentation, and a low viscosity at the much higher application shear rates. The net result is excellent control of sedimentation combined with ease of application.

CRAYVALLAC® ULTRA is a pure polyamide especially recommended in 2K epoxy primers for its robustness. CRAYVALLAC® ULTRA is a micronised amide wax rheology modifier offering very good recoatability for ambient curing solvent-based epoxy coatings. CRAYVALLAC® ULTRA has been designed to overcome those difficulties which exist with older type organo-wax rheology modifiers e.g. seeding, false-body and migration of readily dissolved species to the surface. Consequently, when used in strong solvent systems, coatings formulated using CRAYVALLAC® ULTRA offer an enhanced performance and very good recoatability.

CRAYVALLAC® 60P is a solid powder wax consisting of fine particles of oxidized polyethylene recommended to prevent irreversible hard settling. The fine nature of this dispersion means that CRAYVALLAC® 60P is easily incorporated and activated in coating systems. It is mainly used in industrial and maintenance coatings where its primary function is to provide pigment suspension without any increase in the apparent viscosity. CRAYVALLAC® 60P can generally be used in most solvent-based formulations. Typical applications are epoxy primers, vinyl primers, anti-fouling paints, road marking paints and chlorinated rubber coatings.

CRAYVALLAC® SUPER is a high performance, micronised amide wax rheology modifier suitable for a wide range of solvent-based, high-solids and solvent-free applications. CRAYVALLAC® SUPER overcomes those difficulties which exist with hydrogenated castor oil based rheology modifiers e.g. seeding and false-body. Consequently, coatings formulated using CRAYVALLAC® SUPER exhibit an enhanced performance such as controlled flow behavior, ease of application and excellent sag resistanceIts smooth viscosity recovery will help to achieve high film thickness without compromising a good levelling.

CRAYVALLAC® PA3 BA 20 is a HAPs-free pre-activated amide wax supplied in a mixture of butyl acetate and alcohol. It is a rheology modifier in paste form with high efficiency (optimum sag resistance and viscosity).CRAYVALLAC® PA3 BA 20 is supplied in the form of crystalline fibres. In a coating system, these fibres form an interacting network. This network gives rise to the shear thinning rheology of the final coating. CRAYVALLAC® LA-150 is a new pourable liquid rheology modifier supplied in Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) for post addition to solvent based systems.CRAYVALLAC® LA-150 is a post-addition rheology modifier composed of a modified urea dissolved in DMSO. When added to the final system, the DMSO is diluted and the modified urea crystallizes out as very fine fibres which build into a three-dimensional interacting network. It is this network that gives rise to the system’s shear thinning rheology and time dependent viscosity recovery. The result is excellent control of sedimentation combined with ease of application. Immediately following application, where low shear conditions again predominate, the system’s viscosity undergoes a time dependent recovery as the network re-establishes itself. This time dependency is known as thixotropy and enables the final system to attain very good levelling.

CRAYVALLAC® PA3 WDA 20 is a pre-activated amide wax supplied in a mixture of mineral spirit (D60) and alcohols. Under paste form for post-addition to solvent-based low polarity coating systems, it provides a shear-thinning rheology with thixotropic viscosity recovery to coating formulations. In coating systems, its crystalline fibres form an interacting network which gives rise to the shear-thinning rheology of the final coating. It provides a very high viscosity under the low shear rates associated with sedimentation, and a low viscosity at the much higher application shear rates. The net result is excellent control of sedimentation combined with ease of application. Immediately following application, the coating’s viscosity undergoes a time dependent recovery as the network re-establishes itself. This time dependence is known as thixotropy and enables the final coating to attain very good levelling.

CRAYVALLAC® LA-250 is a modified urea dissolved in DMSO and is a pourable liquid rheology modifier for post addition to low polarity solvent based coatings. CRAYVALLAC® LA-250 should be added to the coating as a slow stream under low to medium shear conditions to ensure sufficient dispersion. Although efficient stirring is required to ensure homogeneity, elevated temperatures are not required for activation and the use of excessive shear should be avoided.

CRAYVALLAC® EXTRA is a high performance, micronised amide wax rheology modifier suitable for high-solids and solvent-free applications with very high robustness. It is especially recommended in 2K epoxy primers for its high temperature tolerance.CRAYVALLAC® EXTRA overcomes those difficulties which exist with hydrogenated castor oil based rheology modifiers e.g. seeding and false-body and that were maximised when activation was performed at high temperatures.

CRAYVALLAC® LV is a high performance, micronised amide wax rheology modifier suitable for very high-solids and solvent-free applications.CRAYVALLAC® LV overcomes those difficulties which exist with hydrogenated castor oil based rheology modifiers e.g. seeding and false-body. Consequently, coatings formulated using CRAYVALLAC® LV exhibit an enhanced performance such as controlled flow behavior, ease of application and excellent sag resistance. Its very high efficiency even when activated allows to reach very strong shear thinning that can result either in very high sag resistance or interresting balance between viscosity and sag resistance. Therefore CRAYVALLAC® LV is for instance highly recommended in the case of solvent free coatings with relatively low viscosity. It prevents the use of specific equipment for the application that are necessary with more viscous solvent-free coatings.
