Applications
Product Applications
  • Metalworking fluids
  • Hydraulic fluids
  • Turbine oils
  • Compressor oils
  • Industrial gear oils
  • Natural and synthetic esters
  • Additin® RC 7120 is a phenolic antioxidant with a wide field of application in lubricants. The recommended treat level in mineral oil is in the range of 0.2 and 0.6 % by weight. The oxidation stability of other base fluids, e.g. fatty oils, esters or polyglycols can also be strongly increased by Additin® RC 7120 at dosages of 0.5 - 1.5 % by weight.
  • Additin® RC 7120 is showing synergistic effects in combination with Additin® RC 7130 (aminic) or Additin® RC 7135 LD (aminic) and RC 8221 (Cu-inhibitor).
  • After heating over its melting point and cooling afterwards Additin® RC 7120 can form undercooled melts, which could stay liquid for some days but could crystallize more or less quickly after agitation or in contact with seed crystals.

Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions
  • In a dry place at room temperature approx. 24 months.
  • Longer storage with exposure to light must be avoided.
  • During storage at lower temperatures the product crystallizes.
  • The product becomes liquid after warming to 40-50°C again.
  • For warming only indirect heating devices are allowed and the temperature of the heat source must not exceed the flash point.
  • Direct contact of product or packaging with heating devices and local overheating over 60°C - even for short time - must be avoided.
  • To avoid damage to the container or spillage of material always ensure adequate pressure relief when warming the product in its container - e.g. by opening the upper bung hole.
