Product Applications

It is used in combination with liquid Epoxy resins or epoxy resin modified by means of reactive as well as non-reactive diluents. Ideal for concrete repair compounds, castings, encapsulations, potting and solvent free coatings, adhesive etc. Can be used in combination with polyamides or other hardener to reduce the viscosity and extend potlife.

Properties

Physical Form
Product Properties

Epoxy coating systems cured with AP 5223 present the following features.

  • Log pot life.
  • Low peak exothermic temperature and shrinkage
  • Low viscosity
  • Good corrosion resistance.

Safety & Health

Handling Precautions

The hardener will absorb moisture & CO2 when left in open containers. This may result in increased viscosity and sometimes crystallization. Use personal protective equipments and
follow industrial hygienic procedures. Recommended to use safety glasses, protective clothing, gloves, & masks suitable for chemical and solvents & their vapor.

Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions
  • AP 5223 should be stored in a dry place, preferably in the sealed original container at temperatures 20 to 30°C. The Product should not be stored exposed to direct sunlight. Material may crystallize upon exposure to low temperature can be utilized after making it clear by heating the material. It is recommended that the material be heated to 50- 70°C with continuously mixing for 1 hour. Once the material become fully homogenized, it can be cooled to room temperature and utilized under normal conditions
  • Shelf life: (20 to 30°C): 12 Month.
  • Hazardous decomposition products: (When in fire) Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen Oxides and other toxic Gases & Vapors.
