Product Benefits

Bluesil™ EMUL 269 provides the following benefits on fabrics when used in conjunction with Bluesil™ CATA 2812:

  • Imparts excellent water repellency on all type of fabrics and is especially suitable for cotton and cotton blends.
  • The imparted water repellency has good resistance to washing.
  • Gives a soft hand-feel and maintains the breathability of treated fabrics for comfortable wear.
  • May improve fabric tear strength.

Bluesil™ EMUL 269 will provide an excellent and durable water repellency to plaster based products.

Applications
Dosage Information
  • Application to textiles by padding: It is recommended to use Bluesil™ EMUL 269 with Bluesil™ CATA 2812. The typical quantity of Bluesil™ CATA 2812 is 40-50% of that of Bluesil™ EMUL 269. The concentration in the bath should be adjusted to give a pick-up of 1-2% by weight silicone on the fabric. Typically this will be achieved with doses of 15 g/l to 45 g/l of Bluesil™ EMUL 269 in the bath. Preliminary tests are recommended to define optimum concentrations. The pH of the bath should be adjusted to approximately to 5. Water repellency should be measured 24 hours after treatment.
  • Water repellent treatment of plaster: Good water repellent properties are obtained by adding 0.3% to 0.8% of Bluesil™ EMUL 269 relative to the amount of plaster powder. The quantity of water repellent varies accordingly to the grade of plaster, the plaster/water ratio and the additives. In some cases, the plaster rheology may be modified. Preliminary tests are thus necessary.
Product Applications
