HFGEL 120-Z

HFGEL 120-Z is an organophilic clay recommended for use in non-polar to intermediate polarity solvent ink and coatings systems and requires no polar activator. It is part of the newest generation of organoclays, being highly efficient and easy to disperse. It is designed for use in systems rather than solvents alone and is not suitable for lubricating greases or other binderless products.

Incorporation Information
  • HFGEL 120-Z is best incorporated in the dispersion and requires no chemical activator to achieve optimal activation. It can be dispersed in the pigment grind under high shear agitation using normal processing equipment.
  • HFGEL 120-Z can also be incorporated in the letdown tank assuming minimal shear is reached and sufficient time for full activation is allowed. Typical dispersion equipment for HFGEL 120-Z includes Cowles-type dissolvers as well as sand, ball and three-roll mills.
