RHOPLEX® 4400

RHOPLEX® 4400 is a 100% acrylic latex binder designed to provide wide formulation latitude for caulks and sealants. These high solids, low Tg emulsion can be formulated without plasticizer to meet the performance requirements of ASTM C920 Class 12.5 to 35 and ASTM C-834 Grade -18°. Sealants formulated with RHOPLEX® 4400 provide reduced dirt pick-up, mildew growth and paint discoloration, as well as excellent weatherability.

Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions
  • RHOPLEX® 4400 should be stored at temperatures between 1°C and 49°C in tightly sealed containers.
  • Avoid freezing of the material. Local legislation on storage must be followed.
  • RHOPLEX® 4400 is protected against microbial attack during transportation and storage in not opened original packaging.
  • To avoid problems with microbial attack during processing and in opened packaging attention should be paid on hygiene.
  • In some cases it could make sense to add biocides to avoid problems with microorganisms.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Large quantities should be handled in a correctly ventilated area
  • Material can create slippery conditions.
  • As the product contains water corrosion- resistance equipment should be used for processing.
  • Low shear pumps like diaphragm pumps should be used.
