Ultramag 60-90 DD

Ultramag 60-90 DD is a naturally ground, white, high-purity magnesium hydroxide suitable for a wide range of applications, including plastics, rubber, and flame retardants/smoke suppressants. It has low corrosiveness and is non-toxic. Ultramag 60-90 DD is a cost-effective alternative to hydrated aluminas. Many properties contribute to the effectiveness of Ultramag 60-90 DD as a superior fire retardant and smoke suppressant filler.

Technical Details & Test Data

Technical Data
  • Char Ash formation: Ultramag 60-90 DD causes a char ash to form ahead of the flame.
  • Higher Initial Decomposition Temperatures: About 340°C, versus 230°C for ATH,which allows for use under higher processing temperature applications.
  • Narrow Range for Water Loss: ATH releases it’s water over a very wide range, 230°C to 430°C. Ultramag releases it’s water over a much narrower range, 340°C to440°C. This provides a higher concentration of water over a given time.
