Addonyl® Kat NL

Addonyl® Kat NL is a premium cast Nylon 6 plastic, renowned for its high molecular weight and superior performance. Manufactured through an advanced anionic polymerization of caprolactam, this material is created via a pressure less casting process where molten monomeric caprolactam is poured into molds and directly polymerized. The result is a high-quality semi-finished product or molding with excellent mechanical properties and durability, ideal for demanding industrial applications.

    Product Applications

The reactivity of the polymerizing melt is influenced by various factors. We recommend an activator concentration of at least 0.5 % by weight. The quantity of the activator to be used, however, decisively depends on the size and form of the casting mold.

The product is easily soluble in molten caprolactam. The caprolactam melt containing the activator is susceptible to oxidation. Thus, we recommend working under inert gas.

    Processing Information
