CALCIUM STEARATE STANDARD (5871) is produced from a high quality, tallow derived fatty acid for polymer applications, particularly polyolefins and PVC, requiring a free flowing processing aid with good handling and feeding characteristics.
- Product Performance
- The basic nature of HyDense Calcium Stearate makes it an effective acid scavenger for polyolefin and polyvinyl chloride processing.
- Relatively low ash content and good dispersibility make the product especially suited for polyolefin film where relatively fine extruder screen packs are used and for the most critical PVC profile extrusion processes.
- A unique particle size distribution with relatively high surface area help dissipate static electricity build-up when admixed with PVC powders and contributes to better control over fusion times in PVC compounding and extrusion.
- The relatively high apparent density and good flow and handling characteristics help prevents problems with bridging and caking in most bulk handling, conveying and automated weighing and metering systems.
