HFGEL 120-N

HFGEL 120-N is an organophilic clay optimized for use primarily in aliphatic and other non-polar to medium polarity solvent-based systems. HFGEL 120-N belongs to the newest generation of high performance organoclays, being easy to disperse and self-activating. It can be added at any point in the manufacturing process and can be used to correct finished batches. HFGEL 120-N imparts viscosity increase, sag control and prevents settling of pigments and fillers.

Incorporation Information
  • HFGEL-120-N is readily dispersible in the pigment grind under high shear in aliphatic or aromatic systems. It does not require heat for activation or a chemical activator to reach the proper level of activation.
  • When added to a blend of solvents it is recommended to select a low to medium polarity one for the dispersion. If post adding it is suggested to do so under high speed dispersion, otherwise HFGEL 120-N should be allowed to mix for a minimum of 1 hour.
