It has a Fineness of Grind (7 Hegman) which means no grinding is required and it can easily be incorporated using high speed mixing techniques. Because the product is a pourable liquid, there are none of the concerns associated with Hexavalent Chrome in pigment form, specifically respirable dust exposure.

It is a rheology modifier in paste form with enhanced transparency, excellent anti-sagging and anti-settling properties.CRAYVALLAC® PA4 X 20 is supplied in the form of crystalline fibres. In a coating system, these fibres form an interacting network. This network gives rise to the shear thinning rheology of the final coating. This shear thinning characteristic provides a very high viscosity under the low shear rates associated with sedimentation, and a low viscosity at the much higher application shear rates. The net result is excellent control of sedimentation combined with ease of application.

Stainbanâ„¢ 186 is a zinc free, odorless, aqueous tannin stain inhibitor additive for water based primers. The unique mechanism of this product allows it to effectively block tannins in stains, and pigmented coatings. It can be easily incorporated at any stage of the paint manufacturing process and is compatible with a wide range of surfactant and dispersants. StainbanTM 186 is effective at any PVC value of primers, however, it is more economical at higher PVC. It may reduce or eliminate the need for zinc oxide in primer formulations. Paints made with StainbanTM 186 have good storage stability and improved humidity resistance. It is HAPS free and does not contribute to VOC. Typical use level ranges from 1 - 4% based upon total formula weight.
