PURMOL™ 3ST Paste

PURMOL™ 3ST Paste is made of Purmol molecular sieve and castor oil. It includes a synthetic 3A zeolite with a pore size of approximately 3 Angstroms (0.32 nm). This allows for selective adsorption of molecules based on molecular size and polarity. In practice, Purmol adsorbs water but not solvents, resins, or pigments.

Additional Information

PURMOL™ 3ST Paste is an excellent moisture scavengers for polyurethane (PUR) coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers. It works to eliminate foaming due to trace amounts of moisture in polyurethane and polyurea formulations. The paste form is often recommended in solvent-free two-component polyurethane systems where a faster incorporation of the PURMOL™ 3ST Paste is desired.

PURMOL™ 3ST Paste is easier to handle and incorporate than molecular sieve powder. Additionally, the dispersion in castor oil protects the molecular sieve powder from atmospheric moisture and any potential contamination when exposed. This improves the dispersion fineness and activity during usage. The paste is a homogenized mixture and is ideal for creating a dust-free environment, which is especially useful during material processing.
