- Product Uses
- Thetaguard™ FA-1000 is an aqueous- based product which is used as a coatings additive.
- Thetaguard™ FA-1000 can be used to provide oil repellency in latex paints such as flats and eggshells.
- The product can also improve the Dirt/Soil Pick-up Resistance (DPR) of coatings, improve wash durability, as well as improve cleanability of coatings.
- Thetaguard™ FA-1000 can function as a wetting agent in printing inks and other coatings.
- Product Applications
- Aqueous-based repellent additive for latex paints, especially flats and eggshells
- Aqueous-based additive for improved cleanability for latex paints, especially flats and eggshells
- Aqueous-based additive for improved DPR (Dirt Pick-up Resistance) for latex paints
- Wetting agent for printing inks
- Wetting agent for polar solvent-based coatings
- Wetting agent for aqueous-based coatings
- Wetting agent for varnishes
- Product Applications
- Mix well before using. The optimum use level should be determined for each type of coating and the specific application.
- Thetaguard™ FA-1000 can be diluted with water.
- A starting point of 0.1-0.3% (Active Ingredient) is suggested for uses including wetting, improved cleanability, and improved wash durability.
- For DPR (Dirt Pick-up Resistance), higher loading levels will be required, estimated at 2-3X higher.
- The combination of anionic fluorosurfactant Thetawet FS-8250 and Thetaguard™ FA-1000 can provide optimal DPR performance.
- Thetaguard™ FA-1000 is soluble in polar solvents: propylene glycol and diethylene glycol.
- It is somewhat soluble in IPA.
