VANCRYL® 65 is a medium molecular weight solid acrylic resin that is soluble in alkaline water solutions. Ammonia or other bases may be used as neutralizing agents. Co-solvents such as isopropanol are not required in making the solution, thus facilitating the preparation of low VOC inks and coatings. VANCRYL® 65 provides outstanding properties for high-solids gravure inks and waterborne clear overprint varnishes. The lower viscosity characteristics in solution of VANCRYL 65 allow the preparation of high solids inks and coatings, where high gloss and rapid drying are essential. Coatings prepared with VANCRYL® 65 have high gloss, scuff resistance, hardness, and excellent resolubility. VANCRYL® 65 is compatible with most acrylic and maleic resins. VANCRYL® 65 is also effective as a protective colloid in the production of styrene acrylic copolymer emulsions.

Excellent gloss and fast drying rates can be obtained by utilizing VANCRYL® 989 in inks and coatings. It is suitable for both flexographic and gravure printing on paper substrates. VANCRYL® 989 has excellent compatibility with pigment dispersions and alcohols. Inks formulated with this product have good transfer, printability, and resolubility. Because it is a hard polymer, VANCRYL® 989 can also be formulated as a high gloss over print varnish with very good heat, water, oil, and scuff resistance.

EBECRYL® 820 is a low viscosity polyester acrylate oligomer, with exceptional pigment wetting properties. This combined with the low viscosity of this material makes it ideal as a pigment grinding resin. EBECRYL® 820 also gives a fast cure response when formulated with other oligomers and cured via ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB). EBECRYL® 820 is used for the preparation of pigment pastes with high pigment loading. This can be produced using a triple roll mill or bead mill. EBECRYL® 820 can be used for grinding all process colors and spot colors. EBECRYL® 820 has been specifically developed to formulate UV/EB curable inks for sensitive applications such as food packaging.

VANCRYL® 937 has excellent compatibility with pigment dispersions and alcohols. Inks formulated with VANCRYL® 937 have good transfer, printability, and resolubility for high-quality printing on various paper substrates (including metalized paper) and aluminum foil. VANCRYL 937 can also be formulated as a high gloss OPV that will very quickly develop water, oil, and scuff resistance.
