Application Information
  • Coatings:
    • Addocat® PP accelerates the drying and curing of 2K PUR coatings based on aliphatic diisocyanates such as e. g. Desmodur® N-types or Desmodur® Z 4470 and polyols of the Desmophen® series. The addition of Addocat® PP reduces the potlife of the finish. To give greater convenience and accuracy of dosage, Addocat® PP should be used as a 10 % solution in solvents such as butyl acetate, ethyl acetate, methylisobutylketone, methylethylketone or xylene. The added quantity of Addocat® PP is approx. 0.02 to 0.50 % per total amount of Polyisocyanate / Polyol. The optimum dosage should be determined by trials.
  • Rigid foam, e. g. applicance, pipe insulation, sandwich panels
    • Addocat® PP activates the blowing and the crosslinking reaction of rigid foam systems. Dosage: 1.0 - 3.0 parts by weight Addocat® PP on 100 parts by weight polyether polyol. For cavity filling a co-catalyst like Addocat® PV or Addocat® 108 (approx. 0.1 - 0.3 parts by weight) is often used with Addocat® PP. For panels a co-catalyst like Addocat® 102 (0.5 - 1.0 parts by weight) is preferred.
  • Flexible ester slabstock foam:
    • Addocat® PP activates the blowing and the crosslinking reaction of flexible PUR ester foam systems. Addocat® PP (0.1 - 0.4 parts by weight on 100 parts by weight polyol) is generally used together with Addocat® 101 (1.0 - 1.6 parts by weight) in systems foamed mainly with TDI 80/20.
  • Cellular Vulkollan:
    • When processing cellular Vulkollan, Addocat® PP is added to the crosslinker mixture, comprised mainly of Vulkollan® 2001 KS (10.0 parts by weight), Addovate® SM (2.15 parts by weight), Addovate® DD 1092 (0.215 parts by weight) and Addocat® PP (0.0215 parts by weight).
  • Ether filling foam:
    • Addocat® PP is particularly suitable for filling foams (density max. 60 kg/m³) based on an active trifunctional longchain polyether polyols and MDI. The Addocat® PP (approx. 0.5 parts by weight) should always be supplemented by an alkanolamine (e. g. triethanolamine at approx. 5.0 parts by weight).

Storage & Handling

Storage and Shelf Life Information

Addocat® PP is to be stored in a cool and dry place. When Addocat® PP is stored in firmly closed original containers at dry conditions at approx. 15 - 25°C, a shelf-life of 12 months from manufacturing date can be expected. The contents have to be thoroughly homogenized before use. The containers should be resealed tightly after use to prevent contamination
by impurities and exposure to moisture and oxygen.
