HFGEL 120-B

HFGEL 120-B is an organophilic clay designed for use primarily in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon systems such as mineral spirits, naptha, xylene and toluene. It is also suitable for some higher polarity solvent systems. HFGEL 120-B can be incorporated at any point in the manufacturing process using common processing equipment.

Incorporation Information
  • HFGEL 120-B does not require heat or a chemical activator in medium to high polarity systems to reach the proper activation. HFGEL 120-B should be dispersed in resin/ solvent for at least 30 minutes followed by wetting agents and pigments.
  • For some low polarity systems, use of a chemical activator is required. It is recommended to determine the optimum level by experiment as defect or excess of activator yields weaker viscosity development.
