Key Features
  • This latex leads to peak vibrational damping centered around 42°C in a wide range of un-plasticized formulations when measured in accordance with SAE J1637 or ASTM E-756. Damping at 42°C also occurs with center excitation measurement techniques.
  • This latex is based on AVANSE™ Resin Technology which offers the capability to create unique composite particles in the coating through the increased interactions between the AVANSE™ latex particles and the surfaces of the fillers.
  • Due to this unique technology, this latex facilitates coating formulations with some combination of the following:
    • Improved damping performance at equivalent weights vs. formulations based on conventional latexes.
    • Equal performance with a significant reduction in the coating weight required vs. formulations based on conventional latexes.
    • Formulation flexibility to use less latex and formulate at higher filler levels without a significant drop in performance vs. formulations based on conventional latexes.
    • Formulation flexibility to increase the level of platy fillers which are better for damping vs. conventional latexes which cannot incorporate as much of these platy fillers.
  • This latex is specifically designed to facilitate coating formulations to be baked at the elevated temperatures of typical OEM paint shop ovens without the blistering and bubble imperfections that can result when drying 2 mm to 6 mm thick coatings in these high temperature conditions.
  • This latex is non-ammonia neutralized which results in low odor formulations and are an excellent choice for paint shop applications.

Safety Information

CAUTION:

  • Keep combustible and/or flammable products and their vapors away from heat, sparks, flames and other sources of ignition including static discharge.
  • Processing or operating at temperatures near or above product flashpoint may pose a fire hazard.
  • Use appropriate grounding and bonding techniques to manage static discharge hazards.

CAUTION:

  • Failure to maintain proper volume level when using immersion heaters can expose tank and solution to excessive heat resulting in a possible combustion hazard, particularly when plastic tanks are used.
