- Key Features and Benefits
- Coatings formulated with ACRYSOL™ ASE-60 Alkali Soluble Anionic Thickener as a sole thickener exhibit a high yield value or gel structure.
- This structure develops upon removal of shear, hence ACRYSOL™ ASE-60 Alkali Soluble Anionic Thickener is suited to the development of moderately textured paints and other such coatings.
- As ACRYSOL™ ASE-60 Alkali Soluble Anionic Thickener is non-cellulosic, its polymer is very resistant to bacterial or enzymatic degradation, resulting in long term paint viscosity stability.
- Other benefits to the manufacturer include reduced roller spatter compared to high molecular weight cellulosic thickeners

- Product Applications
- ACRYSOL™ ASE-60 Alkali Soluble Anionic Thickener is recommended for use in textured paints, or as a secondary thickener to control sagging.
- ACRYSOL™ ASE-60 Thickener can be used in both interior and exterior applications, but for applications where water resistance is important, we suggest formulators optimize their formulations to minimize potential blistering which can occur due to the anionic nature of this product.
- Where superior water resistance is required, we recommend the use of nonionic associative rheology modifiers such as ACRYSOL™ RM-725 Rheology Modifier.
