Key Features

Epoxy coating systems cured with AP 1041X90 present the following features:

  • Suitable for low-temperature cure.
  • High levels of mechanical stability.
  • Good adhesion to marginally prepared surfaces.
  • Resistance to aqueous alkaline, acid, and saline solutions.
  • Good corrosion resistance.
  • Due to the phenolic nature of AP 1041X90 coatings, they are likely to change the color of the film when exposed to heat and sunlight.

Product Applications
  • AP 1041X90 is used in combination with liquid epoxy resins or solid epoxy resin solutions or epoxy resins modified by means of reactive as well as non-reactive diluents. Suitable for making high-solids coating compositions with a workable wide range of pot lives.
  • AP1041X90 is suitable for application with standard one-component airless spray systems. Ideal for marine and protective coatings, e.g., structural steel, concrete flooring, etc. Can be used in combination with polyamides and other hardeners.

Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions
  • AP 1041X90 should be stored in a dry place, preferably in the sealed original container at temperatures 5 to 30°C.
  • AP 1041X90 should not be stored exposed to direct sunlight.
  • Shelf life: (5 to 30°C): 12 months.
  • Hazardous decomposition products: (When in fire) carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and other toxic gases and vapors.
Handling Information
  • AP 1041X90 will absorb moisture and carbon dioxide when left in open containers. This may result in increased viscosity and sometimes crystallization.
  • AP 1041X90 may emit fumes in the presence of high humidity (>40% RH) and in an acidic environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment and follow industrial hygiene procedures.
  • It is recommended to use safety glasses, protective clothing, gloves, and masks suitable for chemicals and solvents and their vapors.
