BONDERITE® S-FN 309

BONDERITE® S-FN 309 ACHESON (known as EMRALON 309) is a concentrated dispersion of PTFE fluorocarbon resin in an isopropyl alcohol carrier. BONDERITE® S-FN 309 ACHESON is designed to provide a fast-drying, low-friction coating when diluted or compounded as a lubricant. It provides good adhesion to many substrates including: wood, metal, rubber, plastic and glass. Moving parts wear longer, work harder and need less maintenance when coated with this product. As a “friction modifier” additive, it is conducive to most aerosol or coating formulations and can be applied by virtually all types of application methods.

    • Usage Information:
      • Method of Use:
        • Surface Preparation
          • Prior to applying BONDERITE® S-FN 309 ACHESON the substrates to be coated should be clean, dry, and free of all contaminants and residues, such as dirt, grease, powder. A solvent wipe or vapor degreasing and air dry is usually sufficient; however, sandblasting, phosphating or chemical etching will generally increase adhesion and wear properties.
        • Mixing and Dilution
          • BONDERITE® S-FN 309 ACHESON is supplied in concentrated form. Agitate the concentrate to ensure uniform consistency. Continue stirring and slowly add the diluent. A dilution ratio of 1:3 (product:diluent) is suggested for initial evaluation. The best ratio for performance and economy is determined at the point of use.
          • Note: A small amount of soft settling of the larger particles may occur during long periods of storage. Mild agitation will restore these particles back into suspension.
        • Application
          • Diluted BONDERITE® S-FN 309 ACHESON can be applied by conventional spray, brush, dip, or roller methods. Spraying provides the most uniform coverage of this product. Typical film thicknesses range from 0.2 to 0.5 mils. Always agitate thoroughly just before using the diluted BONDERITE® S-FN 309 ACHESON. Application during periods of high humidity may increase opacity or blush; exposure to strong sunlight may cause darkening.
