EBECRYL® 444 is a reactive chlorinated polyester resin diluted 40% with the reactive diluent propoxylated glycerol triacrylate (OTA-480) (1). EBECRYL® 444 is not based on bisphenol A raw materials, and is tin-free. It exhibits good lithographic behavior and pigment wetting properties, and fast cure response in ultraviolet light (UV) curable coatings and inks. Cured films of EBECRYL® 444 display good adhesion to metals, and paper.

EBECRYL® P104 is an acrylated amine used as a hydrogen donor, or photoactivator, in ultraviolet light (UV) curable coatings and inks. When used in formulations in combination with a photosensitizer (e.g. benzophenone), EBECRYL P104 provides rapid UV cure response in air by mitigating the effects of oxygen inhibition at the coating or ink surface. Recommended levels are from 5 to 15% based on total formulation, usually combined with 3-5% photosensitizer. EBECRYL P104 can be used with EBECRYL P39 (a polymeric benzophenone derivative) for formulations requiring low residual odor.

MAINCOTEâ„¢ PR-71 is used for all protective coating applications, the first need is for adhesion to and passivation of the substrate. In the past, difficult-to-adhere-to substrates were often treated with a vinyl wash primer to passivate the substrate and provide adhesion for subsequent coats. These vinyl wash primers are increasingly difficult to use as they are very low in solids, high in VOC, and contain toxic pigments. In contrast, MAINCOTEâ„¢ PR-71 Waterborne Acrylic Resin allows the coatings manufacturer to supply primers that not only adhere to difficult metallic substrates, but also give good corrosion resistance over carbon steel. This resin's ability to be topcoated by most solvent-based coating systems makes it a very versatile water-based primer.
