Flame Retardants

Exolit® AP 422 A is a fine-particle ammonium polyphosphate (phase II) with less than 0.1% melamine. The product is largely insoluble in water and completely insoluble in organic solvents. It is colorless, non-hygroscopic, non-flammable, and classified as SVHC-free under current regulations.

GENIOPLAST® GUM is an ultra-high molecular weight polydimethyl siloxane (silicone gum) with low volatiles content.

Exolit® OP 1314 is a non-halogenated flame retardant based on organic phosphinates. The product achieves its flame retardant effect through intumescence. The thermoplastic polymer with Exolit® OP 1314 foams and crosslinks on exposure to flame and forms a stable char at the surface acting as a barrier. The protective layer provides a heat insulating effect, reduces oxygen access and prevents dripping of molten polymer. Compared to Exolit® OP 1312, the product gives an improved thermal stability of polyamide compounds. Exolit® OP 1314 is a white powder.

Polyfill 301 are specially produced for thermoset plastic and CASE applications that require high loading levels with increased surface area for improved flow and surface finish properties. The increased loading levels with use of medium grind series Polyfill products increases flame retardancy and smoke suppression with more H2O molecules available. Exolit® RP 607 is a flame retardant based on red phosphorus. Due to a unique stabilization it is noted for its high oxidation and thermal stability. Exolit RP 607 is a fine brownish- red powder, insoluble in water and organic solvents. Due to the combination of stabilization and microencapsulation, the material is mostly inert against atmospheric influences.

Exolit® OP 945 is a white, fine-grained powder based on an organic phosphinate with a D95 of less than 5 um. The product is not hygroscopic and it is insoluble in water an common organic solvents like acetone, dichloromethane, MEK, toluene. Exolit® OP 945 can easily be dispersed in solvents like acetone or MEK.

GENIOPLAST® PELLET S US AA is a pelletized silicone gum formulation with an outstanding high loading of ultrahigh molecular weight (uhmw) siloxane polymer.

Focus TDCP is used in flexible and rigid polyurethane foams. An additive flame retardant, it has excellent hydrolytic stability, low volatility, low fogging and processing characteristics. Focus TDCP can be incorporated into foam formulations with little to no effect on foam processing.

Exolit® OP 550 (LV) can be used for flexible polyurethane foams. It is a medium viscosity liquid and it is based on a non-halogenated phosphorus polyol with a functionality of approx. 2. The product is a reactive flame retardant that can be chemically reacted into the polymeric matrix, preventing unwanted migration from the foam. Therefore, very low fogging values can be achieved which meet the most stringent emission standards for PU flexible foams in the automotive industry plus elastomers.

Exolit® RP 614 presscake is a fine brown-red powder with a water content of 10-25%, based on a highly stabilized, microencapsulated grade of red phosphorus. This allows a safe and simple handling of the red phosphorus in a presscake form, and avoids the hazards associated when working with dry red phosphorus powders. Exolit RP 614 Presscake is noted for its high oxidation and thermal stability. It is insoluble in water and organic solvents. Due to the combination of stabilization and microencapsulation, the material is mostly inert against atmospheric influences.
