Product Benefits

With the development of RHOPLEX® AC-264, the paint manufacturer is now able to eliminate or reduce the level of alkyd or oil modification in formulating latex paints that adhere to weathered, chalking substrates.

The benefits obtained by eliminating or reducing the level of oils and alkyds and using RHOPLEX® AC-264 are:

  • More rapid development of adhesion
  • Improved tint retention
  • Improved resistance to chalking
  • Less early dirt pickup
  • Less mildew
  • Fewer manufacturing and color acceptance problems
  • Reduced inventory
  • Improved cleanup of paint brushes and tools
  • Reduced early sensitivity to water

Safety & Health

Safety Precautions
  • Keep combustible and/or flammable products and their vapors away from heat, sparks, flames and other sources of ignition including static discharge.
  • Processing or operating at temperatures near or above product flashpoint may pose a fire hazard. Use appropriate grounding and bonding techniques to manage static discharge hazards.
  • Failure to maintain proper volume level when using immersion heaters can expose tank and solution to excessive heat resulting in a possible combustion hazard, particularly when plastic tanks are used.
