UCECOAT® 6560

UCECOAT® 6560 is an aliphatic urethane acrylate solution in water, containing approx. 50% acrylated products. The UCECOAT® 6560 is organo-tin free and highly recommended as primer for wood applications. Films containing UCECOAT® 6560 and cured by ultraviolet light (UV) or electron beam (EB) exhibit a nice optical aspect on different woods. Stability problems can occur if more water is added. Therefore, we recommend to use the EBECRYL® 11 produced by allnex.

Product Performance

UCECOAT® 6560 is characterized by a hazy appearance. UV cured products based on UCECOAT® 6560 are characterized by the following performance properties:

  • Excellent adhesion on wood
  • Excellent wood wetting
  • High flexibility
  • Non-vellowing

The actual properties of UV cured products also depend on the selection of the other formulation components, such as reactive diluent(s), additives and photo initiators.

Storage & Handling

Storage Conditions
  • UCECOAT® 6560 is sensitive toward dephasing. Heat (especially for temperature > 40°C) and long storage time favours this dephasing which is reversible. Therefore, the product should be rehomogenised before use.
  • Care should be taken not to expose radiation curable products to temperatures exceeding 40°C for prolonged periods or to direct sunlight. This might cause uncontrollable polymerization of the product with generation of heat.
  • In order to avoid stability problems, we recommend not to dilute the product with more water.
  • Storage and handling should be in stainless steel, amber glass, amber polyethylene or baked phenolic lined containers. Do not store this material under an oxygen free atmosphere. Use dry air to displace material removed from the container. This material should not be stored for more than 1 year at 25°C.
