Product Benefits
  • D.E.R.® 916 Epoxy Novolac Emulsion consists of D.E.N.™ 438™ Epoxy Novolac Resin emulsified in water.
  • D.E.R.® 916 offers low average particle size and narrow particle size distribution which allows good storage stability and excellent film formation without solvents and/or diluents.
  • The resin has an average epoxy functionality of 3.6.
  • This emulsion is designed for use in two-pack, epoxy binder systems thinned with water for high performance, highly chemically resistant coatings.
  • These systems, used mainly for coatings, are an alternative to equivalent solvent-borne polyamide/polyaminecured coatings when high solvent content is undesirable.
  • Aqueous epoxy binder systems are used in paints for coating steel in confined spaces, marine paints, protective coatings that can be applied to damp surfaces such as concrete or other non-metallic substrates, water-based mortars, patching compounds, cementitious floorings and for water-proofing structures to improve chemical resistance and upgrade overall performance.
